Baku to host new FIFA U-15 World Championship from October
FIFA's inaugural U-15 World Championship and festival will kick off in Azerbaijan on October 24, bringing together young football talents from around the world.
FIFA's newly established U-15 World Cup and festival will kick off in Azerbaijan on October 24 of this year, bringing together youth football talents from around the world. The tournament will feature an innovative 8x8 format with each half lasting 20 minutes, utilizing 68 by 47 meter pitches with full-sized goals for players born in 2011 or 2012.
Over six match days, matches will take place at the Hovsan Competition Complex in Baku, while the opening match and the October 30 final will be held at the Baku Crystal Hall. Following the tournament draw, the Azerbaijani national team was placed in Group AF alongside Andorra, Australia, Haiti, Israel, and East Timor.
The competition is open to all FIFA member associations, with girls' tournaments planned to start next year and annual events for both girls and boys scheduled from 2028.
