Lithuania coach targets victory in Baku
Lithuania head coach Edgaras Jankauskas expects a tough match against Azerbaijan in the UEFA Nations League but insists his side is aiming for all three points in Baku.
Lithuanian national team head coach Edgaras Jankauskas shared his expectations ahead of the UEFA Nations League match against Azerbaijan in Baku. Arriving in Baku on October 3, the team held their sole training session at the 8 km stadium.
Jankauskas noted that Azerbaijan will be extra motivated following their 0-0 draw against Liechtenstein. He emphasized that despite a draw potentially favoring his team for group leadership, Lithuania will take to the pitch aiming exclusively for a victory.
The coach also recalled their previous encounter in Kaunas which ended in a 1-1 draw.
