Losing the league for the first time in over a decade cost Qarabağ their Champions League entry. Drawn against Vestri of Iceland in the first qualifying round of the 2026/27 Europa League, they won 3-0 at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium on 9 July through Zakaria Sawo, Abdellah Zoubir and Renaldo Cephas, then repeated the scoreline exactly in Iceland — Jali Mouaddib, Pedro Bicalho and Sawo again — for a 6-0 aggregate.
The second qualifying round first leg against CSKA Sofia in Baku on 23 July finished goalless, refereed by Italy's Daniele Chiffi. Gurban Gurbanov said afterwards that his side would aim for a better result in Bulgaria.
The return leg is in Sofia on 30 July. The winner faces Sheriff Tiraspol or Maccabi Tel Aviv.
