Şamaxı defeated Araz-Naxçıvan 2-1 in the 6th round of the Misli Premyer Liqasi on 20 September. Rikardo Apolinario scored twice from penalties for the hosts in the 27th and 36th minutes, while Ağadadaş Salyanski scored for Araz-Naxçıvan in the 32nd minute.
The match at the Şamaxı City Stadium was watched by 1100 spectators and refereed by İnqilab Məmmədov. Several yellow cards were issued to players from both teams during the encounter.
