The story
Named for the Azerbaijani Soviet partisan hero Mehdi Hüseynzadə, and fully reconstructed between 2020 and 2023 by presidential decree — 22 sectors across 6.8 hectares with 650 parking spaces. Its record crowd of 9,300 for Sumqayıt v Qarabağ in April 2024 was effectively a sell-out.
Replaced the 1,300-seat Kapital Bank Arena. Some sources list 10,047 or the outdated pre-reconstruction 15,350.
